Kyivstar launches pay TV services in two cities

Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest telecommunication company, has started a soft launch of a new pay television service, based on Vidmind‘s Over-The-Top (OTT) platform, in two cities.

Following a fast setup and deployment process Kyivstar will start offering the new pay TV service at the cities of Krivoy Rog and Zhytomyr. Once this soft launch is completed the Ukrainian mobile operator plans to announce a nation-wide launch.

Krivoi Rog in the Dnipropetrovsk region is the eighth largest city in Ukraine, while Zhytomyr in the capital of the Zhytomyr region.

Kyivstar plans to offer four packages featuring 70-130 channels and thousands of assets as part of its video-on-demand services. The service is delivered across multiple platforms and connected devices (STB, SmartTV, Web, Android Mobile & Tablet, IOS mobile and Tablets).

Vidmind has won in July 2105, a lucrative tender to provide Kyivstar with a complete solution, which includes both content and technology. The tender was won together with ViaSat, of the Modern Times Group (MTG).

Vidmind provides Kyivstar with everything required to deliver a comprehensive end-to-end service management. This includes content preparation, management and delivery, contracts and subscribers management, monetization, etc.
